Our Mission

Connecting women/femmes with other companions that share similar commute plans for both public transit and car services.  Creating a like-minded community who recognize that there is safety in numbers.

TIPS FOR TRAVELING ALONE

  • Wait with the station agent at the subway
  • Keep the volume low/off in your earphones so you can stay alert
  • Ride in the carts with people - usually the first car or the car with the conductor
  • Enter and exit at the busiest entrances
  • Trust your instincts - if something doesn't feel right, get out
  • Walk with a purpose
  • Call someone on the phone and have them stay on the line with you
  • Be alert of your surroundings
  • Safety is in numbers - try to stay close to other people

SEXUAL OFFENSES UP

50%

2016 Reports of sexual offenses

on the NYC subway were up more

than 50% compared to 2015.

The violations include unwanted touching, public lewdness and unlawful surveillance—taking inappropriate video or...

—according to the Wall Street Journal

RIDE TOGETHER

2 or more

When traveling in groups of 2 or more you are less likely to become a victim.

Traveling in pairs or groups decreases chances of harassment and attacks.

$2.75 vs $30

A taxi ride from East Village to Harlem without traffic (or surge pricing) can cost around $30 where as a metro card swipe is $2.75 (for now).

You shouldn't have to choose between cost and safety! When traveling together you are able to have a companion on the subway or a companion to split a taxi fare with.
